I’m a bartender and I’ve been going into debt because of my addiction to pins. BUT, it’s all worth it when I’m able to celebrate so many things with in one set of pins. I’m celebrating Filipino Jeepney culture, TMNT, and (bartending) PINS!! Please don’t tell my wife that I’m spending so much money on pins! I beg of you! Everyone at work .. ok well like 2 people at work were super excited to see my Jeepney Kultura Pin. But I think only 1 of the 2 understood the pin. But then again he was just more excited about the TMNT reference. He’s not familiar with Jeepneys, I mean - how many non-Filipinos actually know of Jeepneys?? He’s Peurto Rican. Well my wife actually is not Filipino, she’s Thai. Their version is not really a bus/ Jeepney. They have the Tuk Tuk. Which is not a Jeepney, but similar in its iconic clutural swagger :)
Wait so.. do I show my wife?? She would think it’s so cute! But then she’d be mad that I’m spending money on non-important stuff. No really, I’ve probably spent more than a few hundred bucks just on pins :(
For those of you thinking: “Why would this dude marry someone that would judge him for spending money on something he loves??” For those of you who think that - … are you stupid? You’ve never been married have you? And if you ARE married and think that you probably should never have checks and balances within a marriage, y’all are probably living in squalor. Even if you’re a couple of billionaires, you probably are holding onto mountains of old magazines and cereal boxes. Anyways it’s good to have some secrets in a relationship. Not like side chicks or other relationships; that’s not a secret, that’s adultery. Gotta have a little mystery is what I’m saying :) And you’re like: “umm so your mystery is pins??” And to YOU I say “Sit on it!!” Get it? Cuz if it were a pin, I WOULD want you to sit on it.. and hurt yourself :)
